A handcrafted acoustic-electric with easy playability and rich tone.
The Alvarez Yairi WY1 brings together decades of Japanese guitar making mastery. Handcrafted in the renowned K. Yairi factory, this cutaway folk OM acoustic-electric guitar blends premium solid tonewoods with comfortable playability. The Alvarez Yairi WY1 lets you easily access upper frets while projecting balanced tone with robust bass.
Crafted With Solid Tonewoods For A Full, Resonant Sound
The Alvarez Yairi WY1 combines a solid Western Red cedar top with East Indian rosewood back and sides for a rich and responsive voice. The figured maple binding and rosette provide elegant aesthetics. Solid woods allow the WY1 to breathe and resonate freely. The cedar top offers crisp, articulate highs with bell-like overtones. Rosewood provides a smooth midrange and tight low end. Together these premium tonewoods create balanced tone with piano-like bass, ideal for fingerstyle playing.
Cutaway Body Grants Easy Access to Upper Frets
The WY1 folk orchestra model has a comfortably contoured single cutaway for unfettered access to the upper register. The cutaway allows your fretting hand to easily reach those high solo notes. You'll be able to explore the entire fingerboard and expand your playing possibilities. The ergonomic body shape feels natural against your body, with perfect contouring whether seated or standing.
FST6 Bracing Produces Open, Robust Bass
Yairi's FST6 bracing system provides a wider tonal palette with enhanced low-end response. The lighter braces allow the thin solid spruce top to vibrate freely. This results in clear and open mids, along with tight bass notes with piano-like resonance. Strumming or fingerpicking rewards you with notes that bloom and ring out. The FST6 bracing gives the WY1 remarkable headroom and dynamic range.
L.R. Baggs Stage Pro Preamp Captures Your Natural Tone
The L.R. Baggs Stage Pro preamp lets you amplify your acoustic tone with clarity and body. It combines the highly transparent Element pickup with intuitive tone shaping. The mid-scoop EQ lets you dial in sparkling highs and robust lows. The adjustable body sensor blend mixes your amplified and acoustic sound. On stage or in the studio, the L.R. Baggs preamp maintains the WY1's balanced and resonant voice.
