Bharatanatyam, a South Indian classical dance, is one of the oldest living dance traditions in the world. Nattuvanar is the person who directs a bharatanatyam performance by reciting rhythmical syllables and playam talam, a pair of small cymbals. This piece is a tribute to nattuvandam, the art of the nattuvanar. The texts are based on South Indian rhythm and solfege syllables.
