Above the First Position is based on decades of experience teaching students how to properly shift between 2nd to 5th positions. First it focuses on 3rd position, and spends more time on that position than on any other. Once comfortable with 3rd position shifts, learning 2nd, 4th, and 5th positions beomes much easier.
