Carl Fischer The Anniversary - Voice with Piano Standard

Using text from the poem "The Anniversary" by John Donne, composer Frederic Sharaf allows the Mezzo-soprano and piano to sing about everlasting love someday parted by death, but reunited in heaven. An introduction by the piano in a movement unto itself leads into syllabic vocal lines with occasional dissonance, putting emphasis on each of Donne's profound and beautiful words.
