Carl Ohlemeyer has been a professional musician and trumpet instructor for over 50 years. His impressive résumé includes 20 years as a trumpeter and cornetist with the United States Naval Academy Band, as a performer and arranger in the Concert Band, Ceremonial Band, Marching Band, Next Wave (Jazz Ensemble), Commandant’s Combo, and Gold Brass Quintet. He retired from the Navy in 2005 and has continued to teach privately and perform in noted big bands.

I purchased lessons online. What’s next?
If you pick your instructor and time slot online, you will receive a confirmation e-mail with your lesson schedule information. If you do not schedule your lesson online, an associate from the Music & Arts location you selected will call you to schedule the lesson. A confirmation e-mail will be sent after the lessons have been scheduled. If you haven’t received an email, please call our customer service number at 888-731-5396 and we can help you.

When I try to order multiple lessons, I get an error message, why?
If you would like to sign-up an additional student, please complete the first student's transaction and then start the process over again for each student.

Why do you need my zip code?
We ask for your zip code so we can provide the prospective student with the nearest location that has a teacher available to teach the instrument you have selected.

How much do music lessons cost?
Lessons range in price from $23 to $39 for a 30-minute lesson, depending on the type of teacher you request and your location. In addition, there is a $30 non-refundable registration fee for new students to activate your account.

When is my lesson payment due and how do I pay?
Tuition and registration fee are due at the time of purchase, in advance, for the following four lessons. After purchasing your first lessons package, your next subsequent lesson tuition will be billed twenty-two (22) calendar days after the date of your first lesson. Thereafter, lessons tuition is billed every four weeks. For example: A student that takes their first lesson on January 12th will be billed their next lesson tuition 22 days from January 12 (i.e., February 3) and every four-weeks starting from February 3 moving forward. Lesson accounts are set up on EZ Pay.

Is a credit card required?
Yes, a credit card is required.

What instruments do you offer?
We offer the following music lessons: banjo, baritone, bass clarinet, bass guitar, bassoon, cello, clarinet, flute, French horn, guitar, mandolin, oboe, percussion, piano, piccolo, saxophone, string bass, trombone, trumpet, tuba, ukulele, viola, violin, and voice lessons.

As a parent/guardian do I need to remain in the store while my child takes lessons?
An adult parent or guardian must accompany any student under 12 years of age upon arrival and departure from every in-store lesson. You may leave during the lesson, but we ask that if you choose to leave the store during your child’s lesson, please be sure to return on time. Your child’s safety is of the utmost importance.

What is the refund policy?
Tuition fees may be refunded in full prior to the delivery of any instructional services, with written notice received within 24 hours of your initial registration date (which may be provided at the designated email address).

What if I need to reschedule any of my lessons, or I accidentally missed a lesson?
To cancel or reschedule a lesson at no cost, you must provide at least 24 hours prior notice. We will reschedule your lesson subject to instructor availability. If you do not show up for a lesson or if you do not provide adequate notice, you will be charged for the missed lesson. For more details, please see the Terms & Conditions.

How do I cancel lessons?
To cancel your enrollment, and to terminate your lessons, you must provide written notice to store management, which may be provided by email (at the designated email address), prior to the upcoming billing date of the subsequent month.108
