Omni boundary layer mic optimized to boost speech intelligibility.

The DPA Microphones 4060 Omni Boundary Layer Mic is ideal for use in boardrooms, conference facilities, and courtrooms. It’s also a great solution for teleconferencing and other applications where excellent vocal pickup is required. The 4060 Omni Boundary Layer Mic is a transducer designed to work under optimum conditions when placed on a tabletop, but it also performs well on any other hard, flat surface that reflects sound.

The microphone is a pre-polarized omnidirectional miniature condenser microphone with a 5.4 mm (0.2 in) vertical diaphragm. The mic body consists of a central rubber disc that holds the mic element mounted in an elegant stainless-steel base. The 4060 Omni Boundary Layer Mic can be very easily placed in essentially any position on the surface of a table, even close to the edge. Users will benefit from the special characteristics of the surrounding sound field on which the mic is mounted: a 6 dB gain of direct sound and only a 3 dB gain of the diffuse sound. The sound captured has both greater clarity, especially at high frequencies, and speech intelligibility compared to sound captured above the surface.

The 4060 Omni Boundary Layer Mic uses CORE by DPA technology and features two M5 threaded holes on the backside of the unit, which means it can be permanently affixed to the table. Furthermore, the slim cable can be run either through or along the table.

A wide range of connection adapters and power supplies makes it possible to use the 4060 Omni Boundary Layer Mic with any microphone input. It’s delivered with a DAD6001 XLR Adapter, but as the supplied cable is terminated with a DPA MicroDot connector this microphone can be connected to a wireless system via the flexible adapter system.

Adapter system gives you flexibility
The adapters for wireless systems give you flexible, simple and affordable possibilities. You are no longer bound to one wireless system. As circumstances change, you can just switch your adapter, instead of incurring the cost of a completely new microphone. When you make the switch, you won't hear any loss or change in sound quality.

DPA’s miniature microphones work with all leading wireless mic solutions, such as Lectrosonics, Sennheiser, Shure, Sony, Wisycom, Zaxcom and many more. DPA Microphones’ ingenious adapter system protects your investment in fantastic sound for years to come.
