Developed in conjuntion with the Phildelphia Orchestra.
The name La Scala comes from the Italian work “The Ladder.” The idea behind this name comes from the concept that music education provides a ladder of opportunity for students to climb. Eastman and members of the Philadelphia Orchestra worked together to develop the line of La Scala instruments. For each La Scala instrument sold, Eastman will donate the equivalent beginner instrument to a student in need in the Philadelphia market.
