Signature Thunderhead bass of Pantera bassist Rex Brown.
The Gibson Rex Brown Thunderhead bass guitar is the signature instrument of multi-instrumentalist Rex Brown, known for his work with metal bands Pantera, Down and Kill Devil Hill, as well as his solo album, Smoke On This... The Rex Brown Thunderhead bass features a mahogany neck and body, and gold hardware with a Hipshot bridge and tuners (including a Drop D Xtender), while a pair of powerful Rexbucker T-Bird pickups provide plenty of output and low-end punch. The master tone control is equipped with a push/pull switch that puts the pickups into passive mode when it is pulled out. Rex’s signature is reproduced on the truss rod cover and the backplate is embellished with a Rex Brown doodle.
