Pair of thin hi-hat cymbals featuring a mixture of raw and brilliant crafting techniques
The MEINL Byzance Dual hi-hat cymbals combine the washy darkness of the Byzance Brilliant hats with the low, earthy tones of the Byzance Extra Dry series. The top hat features a raw, unlathed center and a brilliant surface around the edge. The raw center controls the overtones and gives these hats extra depth at lower volumes. It’s also a slightly different playing surface with a unique texture. The lathed outer edge ensures that these thin hats can still project at higher volumes, creating a shimmering wall of sound when played open. The bottom features the same two-part construction for consistent tone. Marrying elements from across the Byzance spectrum, the Dual series is a study in contrasts—raw and finished, lathed and unlathed, fierce and grounded. Every cymbal is formed by lathe and hammered by hand. It's a high-end cymbal series for professionals and advanced students.
