Big vocal microphone sounds from a small and discreet head mic
The Shure Model WCM16 head-worn electret condenser microphone is a mobile solution for drummers, keyboard players and roving performers who don’t wish to be confined to a mic clipped to a stationary stand. The lightweight headband is adjustable, almost invisible when worn and secure enough to stay in place when you’re jumping around the stage. But even if you’re leaping on drum risers or dancing next to guitar amps, the WCM16’s hypercardioid-unidirectional pickup pattern avoids signal bleed from ambient sound sources and puts the focus on your voice. In addition, you don’t have to position the mic right in front of your mouth and risk annoying plosives and breathing noises. Even when if mic is moved to the side of your face, the EQ circuitry in the mic cartridge ensures your vocals will sound warm and clear—almost as if you were singing through a large-diaphragm condenser. A pop screen provides the mic with added protection from air blasts, and the cable’s 4-pin mini connector is designed for effortless connection to Shure bodypack transmitters.
