The unstained grenadilla used for the instruments body is naturally dried and seasoned and along with a redesigned bore, produces a dark, resonant tone with superior intonation. The Thore Moderato’s full conservatory key system includes a Left-Hand F, Forked F Resonance Key, a third octave keys, split ring D, full articulated C#, and all trill keys. Double control arms allow the bell resonance vent to open for both Low B & Bb Resonance, a feature generally found on only a few professional oboes. The ergonomically designed key system provides all the options necessary for the most demanding repertoire.
