Gustave-Auguste Besson invented the cornet and started the Besson company when he was just 18 years old. He would be credited with over 50 inventions by his death in 1874. Besson, today, is world-renowned as a top purveyor of the rich, balanced and homogenous sound of the British brass band. Research and design have always been at the heart of Besson’s success producing top-quality trombones, trumpets, cornets, tenor horns, baritones, euphoniums and tubas. Besson’s roster of top musicians is as impressive as the experience, materials and process that go into every Besson instrument they carry. Each is expertly crafted from build to finish and tested by fine musicians before delivery ensuring free blowing, perfect balance throughout the range, response, clarity and that trademark Besson sound.
