Miraphone was born from strife and survival and the triumph of the human spirit. Homeless and left with only their craft, pride and some rudimentary tools, 13 musical instrument repair technicians created the Miraphone company from less than nothing. World War II took their Graslitz, Czechoslovakia homes, so they lived and worked together in Waldkraiburg designing and building brass instruments for sale in the fragmented post-war Europe. The Miraphone reputation grew as popular tuba players, Roger Bobo and R. Winston Morris chose the brand. The company moved to a larger facility and never looked back.
In the past, finished instruments were always hand tested to judge the intonation, sound and tone while now computer-aided analysis is employed to be absolutely right, every time. Today Miraphone tubas in every key are renowned and widely played. The Miraphone Bb tubas are some of the most popular in the world with perfect response and intonation. The Miraphone Contrabass Trombone is the biggest slide trombone available commercially and delivers uniquely deeper tone. Miraphone also makes high-quality cases for the transport of these fine instruments.
