Easy to assemble to expand your sound.
This standalone omni capsule for the WA-84 is now available in both standard nickel and black finishes, so adding omni capability to your existing WA-84 microphone is as easy as unscrewing your cardioid capsule and popping on the omni for a great wide pickup pattern.
The WA-84 Mic (sold separately)
The Warm Audio WA-84 is a small-diaphragm condenser microphone based on classic microphone circuitry. With a fully discrete Class A design that utilizes a CineMag USA transformer, polystyrene and Wima capacitors and a Fairchild FET, the WA-84 is versatile enough to handle pro studio, home studio, live, and broadcast applications. It is also great at capturing a variety of instruments and sources, from acoustic/electric guitars and acoustic/electric bass to drums, piano, strings and so much more.
Large Sound, Small Size
Belying its small form factor, the WA-84 has a very large sound, thanks to a heavy Nickel CineMag transformer in its signal path that warms up and enlarges sound sources. More small-diaphragm condenser microphones are using transformer-less technology these days because it's easier on the design end and a lowers the cost during the manufacturing process. Warm Audio bucked that trend with the WA-84, choosing to go the extra mile and tackle a more boutique design that offers crystal-clear, yet smooth, big sound.
